This is no ordinary role. As a VP Finance, you’ll be responsible for leading key initiatives for our team but you should be comfortable wearing many hats too. From rolling up your sleeves and digging in, to leading people and implementing new technology - the function is wide-open for innovation.
This role reports directly to our CFO and as a key member of the Rangle team, you will be responsible for all Company financial reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, key vendor and supplier relationships, cash controls, accounting, tax, corporate finance, budgeting, risk management, credit and treasury. S/he will liaise on financial, operational and strategic matters with both internal and external stakeholders, while providing strong leadership of the finance team.
Your Accountability & Duties:
Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarterly and year end closesPrepare consolidated financial statements ensuring compliance with Canadian (“ASPE”) and US GAAP as well as IFRS
Regular reporting to both external and internal stakeholders
Responsible for preparing working documents for year-end audit purposes.
Acting liaison with external auditors
Be responsible for overseeing all journal entries, adjusting entries and reconciliations
Administration of the company’s accounting system to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and internal controls
Execute timely compliance reporting, including tax filings, lender reporting, board reporting and audited financial statement issuance Tax planning strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and optimization of US, Canadian, and other jurisdictional tax outcomes
Work with our team on the business side of reporting - building out our financial growth models, revenue generation models and other models the executives can use to make better business decisions
Work closely with senior management in developing and implementing business plans, budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans
Provide financial analysis, data, and insight to drive optimal business decisions
Monthly review and discussion of results with departmental heads
Prepare all required documentation to support financing needs
Responsible for developing and implementing specific financial models for effective management and decision making purposes
Ensure a strong controls environment and fiscal integrity of the company’s business through the enhancement and management of accounting systems and controls
Ad hoc special projects as they arise
Strong team mentorship
Skills & Experience:
8+ years exp., of which ideally 2+ years are within a high tech, high growth start-up environment.
Understanding and experience in Business Valuations
Experience and knowledge with Transfer Pricing International
Legacy CA designation highly preferred
Must have working experience preparing statements in accordance with US/Canadian GAAP as well as IFRS
Prior experience in implementing financial systems and associated controls
Direct compilation, preparation and review of company financial statements (consolidated balance sheet and income statement, statement of cash flows, department reports, and management/investor reports)
Financial reporting experience, including knowledge of best practices and procedures with proven thought leadership skills including ability to identify, lead and implement process efficiencies and value added solutions
Sound knowledge of government reporting requirements and tax filings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with advanced knowledge of Excel
Experience preparing audits and working with external auditors
Aptitude to work with large amounts of data and to manage it effectively
Excellent communication skills - you have a way with words &amp; can connect easily with others
You take a leadership role on tasks assigned to you and work really well as part of a team
