As an Agile Product Coach, your expertise will help Rangle’s clients align their people, processes, and technology with a product strategy focused on delivering customer value quickly. Agile Product Coaches posses strong product consulting and product coaching skill sets. You will be responsible for working with clients to assess their current product strategy, product delivery capabilities, and support the development of their product roadmaps to drive desired outcomes. From a product coach perspective, you will also need to coach client product owners in growing in their role, and leverage agile product management best practices, tools, and industry trends to help clients implement sustainable and valuable product management processes.
The right person for this role will make an impact in two different ways:
Create Product Management Coaching Strategy:The Agile Product Coach work is responsible for assessing the product development practices and product frameworks of an organization to identify areas of opportunity for improvement. A successful candidate in this role will partner with clients to identify immediate actionable opportunities as well as strategic approaches to accelerate product development.
Implement Agile Product Management Methodology:This role also includes providing guidance and client consultations, as well as implementing changes to the product delivery process, principles and practices across multiple levels and departments within the organization. The Agile Product Coach must use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, and transparency and promote a culture of experimentation, innovation, transparency, and trust. Leveraging their product experience of working with a wide variety of clients across multiple industries, the Agile Product Coach will work directly with teams to implement product delivery changes and coach both product owners and business stakeholders throughout. The Agile Product Coach must embody the Agile principles, LEAN product development, and lead by example.
Lead with proven product management techniques, frameworks, and experience to identify what makes a great product valuable, and how an organization would action towards achieving that goal
Develop and recommend effective product strategy and product management techniques to help an organization deliver products that solve the right customer problems, as part of the organization’s broader product and agile transformation journey. Lead end to end product deliverables from a full spectrum of problem and value identification to defining product visions and roadmaps to building a prioritized backlogs
Champion and evolve the agile transformation roadmap for the client organization
Understand and empathize with current traditional product delivery (waterfall) state and clearly articulate benefits that help guide the transition to an agile delivery model
Teach, develop, and reinforce good agile product management practices through workshops, observations of team meetings, and one-on-one personal coaching sessions with client product owners
Lead improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization’s product management practice and contribute to the identification of areas of improvement
Leverage concepts and practices from the professional coaching and change management domains to influence agile mindsets and behaviors (e.g. inspection-adaption)Provide recommendations on approaches scaling the product practice within scaled agile frameworks Facilitate or support facilitation of client meetings ranging from product design sprints to feature kick-offs to scrum ceremonies
Ability to do structured and ad hoc agile trainings, workshops, and mentoring sessions
5+ Years experience as a Product Manager leading cross functional teams, with previous consulting experience and/or managerial experience
Experience working directly with clients across multiple sectors
Experience moving seamlessly between strategic planning and tactical execution as needed
Experience developing successful product roadmaps, leading story mapping, and delivering product launches
Passion for Lean / Agile methodologies
Comfortable with presenting to senior stakeholders and/or large audiences
Strong proven communication and negotiation skills, written and verbal
Experience coaching and consulting teams using various agile frameworks (such as scrum and kanban)Comfortable consulting the benefits of scaled agile frameworks (eg. LeSS and SAFe) Great interpersonal skills – we are a close team and work together to solve problems
Excellent facilitation skills – you will frequently be presenting and workshopping for stakeholders and teams
Strong stakeholder management skills – to effectively influence client mindsets and directions, you will need to build and maintain the trust of the clients to serve as a trusted partner/advisor
Grit and heart to overcome challenges and a conviction to push forward
Asset: Experience working in a scaled agile environment
Asset: Previous consulting or leadership positions at startups
Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
